Introduction to Las Damas de Rizal

The History of Las Damas De Rizal Las Damas De Rizal, also known as The Ladies of Rizal, is an organization established to honor the legacy and ideals of José Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. This organization was formed to complement the efforts of the Knights of Rizal by involving women in promoting and preserving the teachings and values espoused by Rizal. The inception of Las Damas De Rizal can be traced back to a group of dedicated women who were inspired by José Rizal’s life and works. These women sought to create a platform where they could actively participate in civic, cultural, and educational activities that align with Rizal’s vision for the Filipino people. The organization serves as a testament to the significant role that women play in nation-building and in perpetuating the principles of patriotism, integrity, and service.

Formation and Inspiration

Las Damas de Rizal is an organization formed by Filipino women with the aim of using their authority and influence to foster peace and prosperity in the Philippines. The organization was inspired by the teachings of José Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. It was established in 2013 at the initiative of former Order of the Knights of Rizal (OKOR) supreme commander Sir Reghis Romero II. This initiative came as a response to the call from Filipina members across various chapters globally. Historic Milestone: Founding of Las Damas de Rizal Abu Dhabi The founding of Las Damas de Rizal Abu Dhabi Chapter on August 13, 2023, by 13 remarkable women is a historic milestone that marks the pioneering establishment of this group in the Middle East and African region (MEAR). This group signifies a significant development in promoting the ideals and legacy of Jose Rizal in a new geographical context. Lady Dra Aileen M. Villanueva was elected as the Founding President of Las Damas de Rizal Abu Dhabi. Alongside her, six executive officers were chosen to lead and manage the organization’s activities. These leaders are tasked with upholding and promoting the values and principles that José Rizal stood for, particularly in areas such as nationalism, education, and social reform. Expansion to Dubai and Northern Emirates Following the success in Abu Dhabi, another chapter was chartered in Dubai and Northern Emirates on February 11, 2024. This new chapter was founded by ten officers and six founding members. Lady Jeanelyn Rillo Jarder was elected as the Founding President of this chapter, further expanding the presence and influence of Las Damas de Rizal in the region.

Chartering of Las Damas de Rizal Doha Chapter

On June 27, 2024, a significant event took place at Dar Al Salam Mall in Doha, marking the formation of a new chapter dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of Dr. Jose Rizal. The Las Damas de Rizal Doha conducted their hybrid election, which saw the enthusiastic participation of fourteen ladies. The unanimous decision to elect Lady Dr. Analiza T. Binondo as the Founding President underscores her pivotal role in bringing together this group of dedicated women. The official chartering ceremony for the Las Damas de Rizal Doha Chapter is scheduled to take place on July 13, 2024, at Marriott Marquis Hotel in Doha, State of Qatar. This event will be a momentous occasion where twenty founding members will take their Oath of Membership and Oath Of Office under the leadership of Lady Dr. Analiza T. Binondo. She has been instrumental in uniting these women and fostering a shared commitment to uphold and disseminate the teachings and principles of Dr. Jose Rizal. Her leadership is expected to guide the chapter towards achieving its goals and making a meaningful impact within their community.

The primary goal of Las Damas de Rizal-Philippines is nation-building, guided by the ideals and principles espoused by José Rizal. The organization seeks to empower women to take active roles in societal development, leveraging their positions to create positive change. Their mission aligns with promoting cultural, civic, and patriotic values among Filipinos. Leadership and Structure The leadership structure of Las Damas de Rizal-Philippines includes notable figures such as Dr. Amalia Rosales, who serves as the national president, and businesswoman Judy Savares, who holds the position of vice president. These leaders play crucial roles in steering the organization’s activities and ensuring that its objectives are met.
